News & What’s Ahead

A few things are in motion right now, and I wanted to keep you in the loop. As always, this is unhurried, prayerful work — but it’s work I’m genuinely excited to share.

Refining A Three Days’ Journey — and Expanding It for the Whole Church

I’m currently refining the A Three Days’ Journey book and its companion Bible study curriculum, and the project is growing in some ways I didn’t anticipate when I began.

Alongside the study, I’m developing a congregational intensive built on the Lay Renewal model — the kind of immersive, lay-led renewal weekend that was a familiar part of church life for decades, from the 1970s into the early 2000s. My hope is to recover that format for a new season: a focused weekend that draws a whole congregation deeper into the theme together, not just individuals working through a book on their own.

I’m also writing a Three Days’ Journey–themed Vacation Bible School curriculum, complete with original songs tied to the theme — something for the children of the church to carry in their hearts long after the week is over.

My aim is to have all of this ready for the summer of 2027, when we’ll pilot the full curriculum at the church I’m privileged to pastor. I’ll share more as it takes shape.

Help Shape He Wept: An Invitation to Share Your Story

I’m continuing to work toward the completion of He Wept, a Reformed theology of grief. As I do, I’d love to hear from anyone who has lost a loved one and leaned heavily on their faith in God to sustain them through the grieving process.

A real story — told with honesty about both the sorrow and the sustaining grace — can strengthen this book and offer readers more hope and encouragement than any hypothetical scenario ever could. After many years in pastoral ministry, I know a great many such stories. But I would never share anyone’s account without their consent and a genuine conversation about their experience. If you’d be willing to share, I’d be honored to listen first and talk with you about whether and how your story might be included.

An Audiobook Edition of Grace in Everyday Relationships

Plans are also being made to produce an audiobook edition of Grace in Everyday Relationships. For many readers, hearing a book read aloud is the most natural way to take it in — on a commute, on a walk, or in the quiet of an early morning. I’ll share more about the format and release timing as those details come together.

A Year-Long Devotional — Releasing December 2026

A one-year devotional book based on Grace in Everyday Relationships is on track for release in December 2026 — timed so readers can begin “Fifty-Two Weeks of Grace in Everyday Relationships” with the turn of the new year. The plan is to take the heart of the book and walk through it slowly, one week at a time, with Scripture, reflection, and a small, practical step for living out relational grace in the ordinary moments of the week.

A Saturday Workshop for Small Group Leaders — Mid-October 2026

Plans are underway for a Saturday workshop to equip church leaders and small group teachers to lead a study based on Grace in Everyday Relationships. The workshop will be held at The Dwelling Place in Brooksville, Mississippi, in mid-October.

Whether you’re a seasoned facilitator or stepping into this for the first time, the goal is simple: to send you out confident and well-prepared to walk a group through the material with grace. More information — including the date, schedule, and registration details — is coming soon.
